Founded in 1999 Wolds Engineering Services Limited started life as a Bearings and Power Transmission supplier based in Pocklington, however it wasn’t long before our quickly growing customer base prompted us into extending our product portfolio to include hand and power tools, clothing and safety footwear.

A second branch based in Scarborough soon followed as our reputation for holding stock locally and our excellent service grew.

Investment continued with a new IT system purchased and the popular mobile tool and demonstration van was introduced.

The Pocklington depot moved into new purpose built premises in 2010 as we out grew our rented units and we continued to develop into a truly one stop shop supplying as ever growing customer base with an increasingly wide number of product lines.

Excellent relationships with key suppliers enabled us to not only keep our locally based customers happy but add accounts from and around Yorkshire and further a field.

To cope with increasing demands product experts were recruited and our team quickly grew to 25, with continued investment in IT, staff training and stock holding helped us attract and keep more happy customers.

Our third branch was opened in Hull in 2018. The same year we supplied our first vending solution offering a customer increased stock management and control.

Yet more product lines followed fasteners, motors, gearboxes, castors, engineering consumables, lubricants and oils in fact anything a customer wants can usually be supplied.

We joined IADA, a group of independent companies similar to ourselves in 2018 to allow us to offer customers national coverage from locally based strong independent companies.

Late in 2019 saw us join Troy which opened yet more direct supply chains to leading suppliers in our industry.

Staffing levels have now reached 40, our stock holding is in excess of 3 million pounds and we believe we offer a service second to none. Big enough to cope with huge Blue Chip companies, yet still in touch with long standing customers whose loyalty has enabled us to continually expand.
